My first post is of course why I decided to Blog: simple, I love to write, so I told myself “Now or Never.” I have never dreamed of being a literary scholar or of writing any best-seller. Nevertheless, writing has always been my favorite avenue to channel my emotions, feelings, and share my thoughts. Along with photography and filmography, the purpose of writing is to seal life’s experiences and memorialize them.
Why this blog? In 2015, as my children were in college, I suddenly realized I had more free time to connect with friends on Facebook (FB). I decided to create a community for women to be supportive of each other, laugh, and be informed. I added some friends with whom I shared a certain sense of humor, then friends invited other friends, and family members. Yes, this is how Fabulous Women, a private FB page, started.
The idea of moving to a blog was at first exciting but scary. Quick funny posts or pics worked well on the FB page; but longer posts not so much. I will be posting at least weekly about topics that I hope you will find interesting, thought- provoking, and entertaining.
So here we are. This Blog will allow me to share more about topics of interest. it is about You every day woman, of all ages, ethnicities, race, wherever you are: Mothers, Sisters, Cousins, Grandmothers, Aunts, Friends, from all corners of the world who carry our societies and whose influence remain often ignored, devalued, or unappreciated.
